The electricity cost portion of property operating costs has increased from 19.2% of the total operating cost in 2000 to 31.1% of the total in 2018. While this pressure remains a concern and adds further pressure to the property owner and occupier, there is also a shift towards future planning and continued efforts to “green” buildings.
