building of a new 20 000m² parts distribution warehouse situated in the new Plumbago Business Park on Gauteng’s East Rand.
The state of the art facility will support their extensive dealer network in South Africa and Sub Sahara Africa, facilitating their growth and efficient service to their customers.
Property owner and developer J.T. Ross, are proud to partner with John Deere in the development of their new facility, brokered by Clive Williamson of Broll.
“The Primary reason for selecting Plumbago Business Park is its excellent location on the R21 for both inbound and outbound shipments” says Cor Van Der Silk, Manager of Parts and Service Marketing SA for John Deere.
“We believe that this will give us a strategic advantage over our competitors due to its close proximity to OR Tambo Airport and various courier distribution hubs.”
The location and design of the new John Deere premises allows the distribution warehouse to receive; process and ship parts speedily and efficiently. As Cor explains; “This ability is absolutely critical to our business due to the users of our equipment being linked to the land and therefore directly affected by any adverse weather conditions.”
Located approximately five minutes from OR Tambo Airport, Plumbago Business Park incorporates a modern gatehouse at the entrance allowing for the easy flow of large commercial vehicles. The gatehouse also accommodates a security control room from where the secured perimeter of the park and the gatehouse area will be monitored on a 24 hour basis.
Completion of the warehouse is expected within the third quarter of 2012 along with a number of corporate companies who have elected to relocate their distribution centre’s to Plumbago Business Park.
